The International Summer School on “AI and Criminal Justice”, organized by Luiss School of Law in cooperation with Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, is an advanced Course which provides a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the interrelations between AI and criminal justice. The Course is entirely unique, as it will bring together internationally recognized academics and practitioners who will co-teach during the interdisciplinary modules of the Course. The Course is based on a blended learning model and is held every year in July, both in presence at Luiss University and through the Webex online platform. For information concerning this year’s class, please consult our dedicate website here.
The program on "Cybersecurity: Understanding Technical, Legal and Management Issues" is a customized Course that provides an in-depth understanding of the multi-faceted nature of cyber risk in digitally enabled societies. The Course adopts a multi-disciplinary approach to focus on cybersecurity as a key driver for sustainable growth. The various perspectives of international relations, law, management and engineering are adopted to analyze the evolution of cyber-threats, the legal frameworks and institutions implementing national and transnational governance on cybersecurity, organizational and interorganizational processes and practices to protect digital assets in businesses and public administrations, and advanced technologies to design secure infrastructures and support different phases of cybersecurity operations, such as cyber-intelligence and digital forensics. The previous edition of “Cybersecurity: Understanding Technical, Legal and Management Issues” was designed for Civil servants and Cybersecurity experts from African Countries and took place daily from Monday 26th April until Friday 14th May 2021.
Luiss Guido Carli University invites you to apply to compete in the “Find Your Star” digital challenge, which is part of the event entitled “Cyber Intelligence: Data Driven Decision Making for sustainable global value network - Expo 2020 Dubai” taking place at the Italy Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai (UAE) on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 January 2022. The event is organized in cooperation with Elettronica, Cy4gate and the Italian Commissioner’s Office for Expo 2020 Dubai.
Cyber International Panel: "Cyber Critical Infrastructures for Global Supply Chains. Assets, state of play, threats, attacks, and countermeasures"
International Panel from Dubai Expo 2020 - Italy Pavilion, streaming on Luiss Social TV. - 13th January 2022, 3 PM (UAE) 12 PM (Italy).
Abstract
The recent hiccups in the logistic of Global Supply Chains, resulting from the stress posed by the measures to curb the spreading of the pandemic, followed by a subsequent acceleration in the world economy, have clearly shown that the global supply chains are inherently fragile. In addition, the same has been seen, to a smaller scale, with the recent cyber-attacks: Colonial Pipeline, that impacted the distribution of oil on the East Coast of the US; Maersk ransomware, whose related outages put the first stress test on the logistics chain; and solar-winds, whose depth and breadth of compromising (and associated consequences) has not been fully understood yet.
The digital challenge: Find your star
How to build your global value network while promoting social and environmental sustainability in digital ecosystems? Seize this Open Source INTelligence (OSINT) experience for future decision makers, and learn how to leverage Artificial Intelligence to quickly collect, integrate and analyze dynamic heterogeneous data flows. The decision intelligence process and platforms transform data into knowledge and foresights, leading to enhanced decision-making skills. The objective of the digital challenge is to introduce students to the potential and basic functioning of the Digital OSINT with a view to enabling them to leverage this technology as a means to enhance and transform their decision-making processes. Within this framework participants will be provided with a firsthand insight into the related process, methodology, technology and legal framework. If you are interested to apply, please find here the Expression of interest and our privacy policy.
