On behalf of the Engage.EU alliance, we are pleased to invite ENGAGE.EU partners to the 3rd Annual Conference at Luiss University from Wednesday, 25 October to Friday, 27 October 2023.

The event will give the opportunity to the Alliance to review the major achievements and milestones of the project, as well as to discuss the further perspectives for a long-term cooperation able to empower European citizens to frame and solve future challenges. Indeed, the Alliance is heading to the pivotal moment: the conclusion of the first funding phase (2020 –2023) and the beginning of the second one (2023 – 2027).

Getting Around in Rome

Public Transport

Rome has an integrated public transport network that includes metro, bus, tram and urban railway service.  There are 3 metro lines: A, B and C. They circulate from 5:30am to 11:30pm. On Friday and Saturday, the service is extended until 1:30am.

For more information about buses and routes search, please follow this link.

Tickets must be bought before boarding the bus and must be validated at the beginning of the journey. Passengers found without a valid ticket will have to pay a fine between € 50 and € 100.

Atac also offers a new ticket payment method via smartphone. More information can be found here.

Car Sharing

An alternative to public transport in Rome is Car and Scooter Sharing, which has recently become a very valid option to move around the city. Please remember that a valid driving license is always required to use these services.

There are several companies offering this service. Just to give you an example, please find here below a few websites including further information regarding these services

Taxis

To book a Taxi, call 06.3570. It is uncommon to hail a taxi in the street. Instead, you generally need to wait at a designated taxi rank or book it in advance. Taxi Apps are also available, such as Free Now, it Taxi, Wetaxi (and many others). These can sometimes be quicker and easier to use than the phone lines.

It is strongly recommended to specify if you want to pay by credit card, either while reserving the pick-up service or while getting into a taxi.

Please ensure you use a licensed taxi. These are painted white, have “taxi” lights on the roof, and have Comune di Roma decals (with the taxi’s license number) on the doors.
